Difference between low frequency transformer and high frequency transformer

There are different frequencies in the transformer, and the applicable environment is also different; if it is a high-frequency transformer, it is specially used for the high-frequency stage, and the low-frequency transformer is a special transformer in the low-frequency range. Regardless of the operating frequency, the audio transformer transmits by electromagnetic induction. If the transmitted energy is fixed, then its operating frequency is high, and the energy per transmission can be reduced, so the material used in the transformer will be reduced.
In this way, we know that the difference between low-frequency transformers and high-frequency transformers is the difference in operating frequency, which leads to some differences in selection. Both work the same and there is no gap. Regardless of the operating frequency, energy is transferred by electromagnetic induction.

Because the frequencies of high frequency and low frequency are different, high frequency can only be used in high frequency circuits, the frequency of the excitation source matches the frequency of the transformer, and the low frequency cannot be mixed, even if the frequencies of high frequencies do not match, they cannot be used.

If the transformer transmits a certain amount of energy, its operating frequency is high. If the energy transmission frequency is high within a certain period of time, the energy transmitted each time can be less, and the transformer uses less materials, resulting in structural size. Therefore, the number of turns of the coil of the high-frequency transformer is relatively small, and the volume can be small, while the number of turns of the coil of the low-frequency transformer is also large.

Under the same power, the low-frequency transformer is much larger than the high-frequency transformer. In this case, the low-frequency transformer is about 10 times larger than the high-frequency transformer. This is because the low-frequency transformer must be protected to reduce the u value, but the efficiency will become worse , so a lot of heat must be dissipated.
